Understand & manage

  • MS affects the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms may include visual changes, numbness, weakness, fatigue, or difficulty with balance and thinking.
  • Treatment can reduce disease activity and manage symptoms; rehabilitation may help function. Report new or worsening symptoms rather than assuming they are a usual flare.
  • Choose balanced nutrition and discuss exercise, heat sensitivity, and supplements. No diet should replace prescribed MS treatment; discuss restrictive diets and high-dose supplements before starting them.
  • VNG coordinates diagnostic assessment, MRI monitoring, disease-modifying treatment management, and care for symptoms and relapses.

When to get medical help

Sudden weakness, speech problems, or vision loss may be stroke—even with an MS diagnosis. Call 911 for these symptoms or severe breathing trouble.
